Learning Theory

Learning is commonly defined as a combination of constructivism, behaviorism, and cognitivism. It is a process in which emotional, environmental, and cognitive elements are brought together. It is a process in which one’s knowledge, views, and skills are changed. A theory that describes the learning processes of animals and human beings is known as a learning theory. Learning theories serve two functions. One is to provide conceptual framework and vocabulary. The other is to provide suggestions to solve practical problems. Learning theories do not provide us with the solutions to the problems but show the way and the direction to solve the problems. The main fields of learning theories are behaviorism, constructivism and cognitivism.

Accelerated Learning

There are several different learning methods that people use to help them learn and remember what they’ve learned. Most of us are familiar with the note-taking method of learning. By taking notes as you read material or listen to a speaker you are actually calling attention to the material twice. The point of accelerated or enhanced learning is to make the information more accessible to the brain. This is done through repetition and reinforcement. The more we hear something—the more we are exposed to something—the more our brain remembers it.

These can be first experiences, things you learned by experience or in school, or procedural memory, how to walk and talk, routine skills that don’t require conscious recall abilities.
