Pattern Recognition

With the advancement of science, new technologies have been emerging day by day. Pattern recognition is one such technology that has been serving multiple needs for today’s world in the areas of artificial intelligence, neural networks, cognitive science, biological research, and much more. Though studies and research were done about this technology long ago, the implementation took some years, since the use of this technology needed a proper system to work with. Now, with the development of many machines and devices that could make use of this pattern recognition, one can come across this technology in day to day life. For example, x-rays, which we are familiar with, use pattern recognition, and MRIs and ultrasound images also use this technology for identifying the disease patterns.

Technology in Schools

In today’s fast paced Information Age, there is a lot of competition in the job fields of software programming and information technology. So as not to get left behind, schools are starting to implement technology in their curriculums. As of 1999, 90 percent of all schools in the United States are connected to the internet, and the number is rapidly rising. The internet provides access to an immense load of information that can be used by teachers as well as students.

Science and Children

Confronted with dense, dull textbooks that present formulaic information in a disconnected, abstract way, many children immediately shut down. Without even thinking about it, they label science as something apart from them, at best a school subject they should excel in and at worst a boring hour they spend staring at the wall. Science does not have to be this way. By introducing more hands-on learning methods into our classrooms, we can bring science alive for children from kindergarten to eighth grade and ensure that it plays a continuing role in their futures.
