DISTANCE EDUCATION

There are so many people who are disappointed by the fact that they could not complete their studies for various reasons. The reasons may be financial, health related, due to a lack of suitable educational institutions, etc. They might have stopped their studies all of a sudden due to the burden of studies or lack of interest in a particular subject or subjects, and after some time wanted to resume the studies. The answer to such problems is distance education.
What is distance education? It is the education provided by educational institutions through mail, internet, etc. One must first register by mail or online and pay a certain fee, as determined by the institution. Courses and subjects can then be selected according to choice. There are several institutions running such distance-learning programs throughout the world.
After receiving the requisite fee, which often may be paid in installments, the institute will send the first pack of study materials. The pack contains a number of books containing lessons on various subjects, narrated in clear and understandable language. There are questions at the end of every lesson, which are to be answered and sent back to the institution within a set time period. After receiving all the answers, the teachers will evaluate them and award grades. Then the second set of lessons will be sent. This process goes on until the last sets of lessons are answered by the students.
Contact classes are also conducted by the institutions for the benefit of the students in certain locations. Classes are taken by experienced teachers of separate subjects. Intermittent tests are also conducted in the same manner. The examinations conducted for regular students are applied to the distance education students as well.
Distance educational institutions are doing a great work by helping those who left their education uncompleted and wanted to complete it at a later date without going to college or a traditional brick-and-mortar school.
