It all started when…

Well? When exactly did it start?
If we are all honest about it we have all really always been interested in learning how to remember things. But, for me, there is one day that sticks out as the begining.
I was in college at the time. At the beginning of one semester one of my professors told the class that the first student who could correctly name all of the students in the class, he would average an A into their grade.
So, we went around the room the first day and each of us stated our names. Then the opportunity came. “Can anyone name everyone?”
Of course not! I only knew of one person on our small campus of 1000 students who could name a class of 30 on one pass like that, and fortunately for us, she wasn’t in this class.
the second day of that class we all showed up for class and right before the class started, in walks that one student.
I had heard that Brook could not only name each student in this class, she could do it with a much larger group of people than our small class. I also had heard that part of how she was funding her college education was by showing other people how to perform the same "stunt." I thought to myself, “Game over” I didn’t even try to learn the names, I just waited for the prof to ask who could name each student so that I could see Brook perform her stunt. Which she did easily.
How DID she do that? Well, at the time I didn’t want to know that bad. Quite honestly, I wanted to be able to perform the stunt, but I didn’t want to put any effort into it. Unfortunately, nothing in life works like that. If you want the skill, you are going to have to put forth a little effort. In the next several articles we will be exploring the various skills related to reading and memorization. Some take very little effort. Others take a bit more. But, the plan is to lay out all of the options so that you can decide what tools you want to invest the time in to achieve the goal of being able to Remember Anything.
