Integration is part of the Calculus class in math. It is the study of various integration techniques and integrals. Integration, as a mathematics operation, is the operation by which an integral is found. When you study Calculus, you will study a lot about integration as well as other areas of Calculus such as Differentiation, Limits, Power Series, Vectors and Polar Coordinates. Depending on what level of mathematics you are studying, there are a lot of different methods available for you to do your integration. Some problems of integration are more complex than others and they need you to use more difficult techniques of integration to solve them. If you are doing integration at school, then the problems you are solving are likely to be much more simple and only need easy methods of integration to solve them.

Methods you can use to do Integration

A simple way to integrate is one called integration by parts. This technique lets you to integrate functions that is a product of two other functions that are differentiable. If these functions are not differentiable, then it will be rather difficult to do integration by parts on this function and you will have to come up with a different way to solve the problem. There is also a formula that you can make use of when you are solving problems by integration by parts.

There are more than one way to integrate such as using partial fractions and trigonometric functions. These methods are a lot harder than integration by parts so it is rather unlikely that you will learn about them until you are enrolling in high level Calculus classes. You may learn about what partial fractions are early on but you will not learn how to use them to solve integration problems until advance classes. Trigonometric substitutions are ways of using trigonometric functions including cosine and sine to make the integration problem easier to handle.
