Learning Development

The term learning development is, in a sense, an oxymoron—a paradox of two worlds that don’t exist in the educational system today. There would be a vast improvement in the development of minds if the learning environment were interwoven with the advances in technology that have been made in the last decade.
The role of government in education should be dedication to every child receiving the best that education has to offer to all students, not just the ones in the more affluent areas of town. In order for there to be development in education, we must do away with the outdated constraints of yesteryear and more accurately gauge the ability to learn at every stage of development. Just think of the information you personally have learned, from the research that has brought you to this article in your journey through learning and developing your self; how then can schools whose method of teaching was crafted in the 1900′s before the rise of the information giants like laptop and wi-fi still be relevant in leading our minds towards reaching higher goals?
There is no one solution to learning development. Each person is individual, thus learning must be all-inclusive. True development is the development of one’s ability to not only contribute to society, but to also develop the senses and live a full and creative existence, fostering an environment that continues the ability to learn.
The needs of people coming into the educational system have changed greatly from what was once expected. The immediate availability of information has grown by leaps and bounds, while the system, while great in its day, has fallen short of truly meeting the needs of today’s students. Instructors in charge of developing plans for learning need to challenge themselves to find ways to make use of more unconventional forms of learning. Greatly increase the access to information within the educational parameters—i.e. classrooms, lecture halls, etc.—and you will see an explosion of mind power with an increase in the percentage of students who actually get what you’re talking about.
There are some who suggest that if the school’s system of learning and development is weak, the students won’t gain anything from attending. The writer Charles Kenny suggests that enrollment rates will rise with increased monetary incentives for caregivers responsible for enrolling children in educational settings, but that no measurable increase in the retention of the information occurs. Regardless of the methods, once the student has entered into the learning situation it is the responsibility of the learning provider to give sincere effort towards expanding the thought processes of the individual student, thus opening up the potential learner to a lifelong commitment to continually developing themselves.
