How a person learns has fascinated philosophers and teachers as well as parents for nearly forever. How exactly does a baby learn to speak, for instance? And why is it that similar breakthroughs are made simultaneously in different areas? The answer to these and many other questions may take far too long to understand, but understanding several learning skills will scratch the surface and catapult you into greater understanding. For the sake of convenience, the learning skills used universally will be covered by paragraph in the following categories: Visual, Auditory, Experience, and Reflection.

Educational Games
Nowadays, children are more exposed to different forms of media. They have the computer, internet, and cable television to expose them to a lot of stimuli. With the advent of different media, kids begin to develop their own ways of learning. There are generally seven distinct learning styles, but they are constantly evolving and combining in every child. The best way to take advantage of this is to expose children to different stimuli and give them the freedom to explore and eventually discover their own style. Regardless of their learning styles, children learn most when they are having fun or when they are not forced to learn. Educational games can be helpful. Here are the newest and the most entertaining educational games for you and your kids.

Learning Styles

If you look around at the people around you, whether you are in a classroom, workroom, or living room, you can notice that each and every person has a different way of learning. Learning styles help classify the different ways that people learn into seven distinct styles. Even though everyone has a mix of the styles some people may discover that they have a primary style of learning, and use less of any other type. Some other people may find that they use different types of styles under different circumstances. Just know that there is not a “right” mix, and the types of learning styles you use are constantly changing as you age and experience new things.

Toddlers’ Activities

Start Setting Up a Lifetime of Good Habits by Encouraging Activities in the Toddler Years.
There is perhaps no greater amount of learning and development accomplished both socially and mentally than during a child’s toddler years. This is when children begin to test limits, learn right from wrong, learn general rules of expected behavior in their society, and begin the formation of their educational learning styles. This may sound scary if you are a new parent or have a child about to reach the age of two, but don’t be alarmed—there have been millions of people who have gone before you and the vast majority have succeeded.

Science and Children

Confronted with dense, dull textbooks that present formulaic information in a disconnected, abstract way, many children immediately shut down. Without even thinking about it, they label science as something apart from them, at best a school subject they should excel in and at worst a boring hour they spend staring at the wall. Science does not have to be this way. By introducing more hands-on learning methods into our classrooms, we can bring science alive for children from kindergarten to eighth grade and ensure that it plays a continuing role in their futures.
