What Is Mnemonics?

A cascading waterfall, flanked by flowers. If you have to memorize a list of long, complicated names that make no sense, you’re not alone. A lot of people have to do this. This is where mnemonics can help.

Well? When exactly did it start?

If we are all honest about it we have all really always been interested in learning how to remember things. But, for me, there is one day that sticks out as the begining.

I was in college at the time. At the beginning of one semester one of my professors told the class that the first student who could correctly name all of the students in the class, he would average an A into their grade.

So, we went around the room the first day and each of us stated our names.  Then the opportunity came.  “Can anyone name everyone?”

Of course not!  I only knew of one person on our small campus of 1000 students who could name a class of 30 on one pass like that, and fortunately for us, she wasn’t in this class.
