Since we live in an information age that is mostly marked by industrial labor and professional careers in various fields, today’s employers are more likely to hire people who have finished college. Individuals who have accomplished post-graduate studies are of great advantage. While individuals who have completed a degree are not likely to encounter difficulties in landing the job that they want, people who have never had a degree are expected to have one. Education is today’s tool of defense when it comes to career survival and successes.

When it comes to education, the school primarily dictates the framework of learning. While it provides the fundamentals to specialize in certain fields of interest through finishing specific degree courses, it takes time and strong commitment for it to be acquired. However, not all aspects of education are learned within the walls of schools. Education can also be acquired through experiences. It basically paves the path towards getting a clearer picture of life, building confidence and courage to make decisions and face life’s successes and failures.

For any individual, education is important to both his personal and professional life. Whether or not he is ambitious enough to dream of reaching a particularly high level of success, its capacity to become career leverage explains one of the main reasons why education is so important. Completing advanced levels of education is an indicator of a great drive and commitment to learn and apply knowledge on a variety of tasks. Hence, the more you learn, the more knowledge you have, the more you earn. For instance, careers in the health care industry, which is one of the strongest and fastest growing industries in the world, are hiring people who finished college degrees of health-related courses and enjoy salaries amounting to $40,000 to $500,000 annually.

Education is equally important to people’s financial growth. By having all the instructions on how to manage or handle money and invest it wisely, one can easily set up his own business with minimum risk of getting bankrupt. In this light, people who are tired of constantly pleasing their bosses can turn to running their own businesses to enjoy greater, flexible and stable income.

Lastly, one of the reasons why education is so important is its capacity to make hiring people easier and more convenient. Posting a particular requirement on the educational attainment of applicants allows the employer to narrow down his search for qualified and able employees. Many of today’s employers value a college degree or college education above anything else. This applies even to positions that previously did not require a particular college degree or educational attainment. Hence, education has become both a barrier and advantage to landing great careers and ultimately succeeding in life.
